We specialise in the assessment and treatment of ‘centrally’ located musculoskeletal conditions such as the pelvic girdle, lumbar spine, rib cage and neck, as well as those that relate to the pelvic floor.

We take a three-dimensional approach to every patient by trying to get to the underlying driver of the problem. Whether it be driven from the muscles, the joints, the ligaments, altered movement control or the pelvic floor we consider and test all possibilities.

Many people are surprised to hear that the pelvic floor can directly or indirectly create conditions such as back pain, hip impingement or coccyx pain, and is frequently the missing piece of the puzzle that we love to find.

The way your body moves tells us a lot about imbalances, injuries and dysfunction, and our treatment approach will encompass dynamic movement assessment, evidence-based care, Integrated Systems & Connect therapy, Muscle Energy Techniques, massage, dry needling and graduated movement control retraining.

What to expect

We love taking women from pain or injury and help guide them back to the movement or exercise they love through specific movement retraining and our Clinical Rehabilitation program.

Step 1 – Your Story
We start by listening to your story to make sure you are heard. We take a detailed history encompassing information from the pelvic floor as well as other body systems. Some of our questions may seem a little surprising, but trust us it gives as useful information to help us piece you back together.

Step 2 – Assess
We will then assess your pelvic floor, breathing, bladder and musculoskeletal system using body movement, objective testing, bladder and pelvic floor ultrasound and in most cases a vaginal exam.

Step 3 – Drivers
We will then take a step back to determine if there are any other drivers contributing to your problem that we need to address as a part of your treatment. Trust us this part can get interesting as we start to show you just how connected your body really is.

Step 4 – Empower
A diagnosis will be made and we will empower you with the knowledge you need in order to improve. We will put a treatment plan in place so you are clear on where you are and where you are heading.

Step 5 – Treat
Depending on your diagnosis and assessment findings your treatment the approach we take will vary between individuals. It may include manual therapy such as massage, dry needling, connect therapy or integrated systems approach, muscle energy techniques, cranio-sacral techniques or simply a very specific graduated rehab program to build your body from the ground up.

Step 6 – Dynamic Movement
Our favourite step! Every woman should be able to move and exercise and we will work with your body, your symptoms and your biomechanics to help you achieve  your goal whatever it may be. Whether it be running, squatting 60kg, or simply lifting an object pain free we will structure your rehabilitation program accordingly and guide you there.

Please bring with you to your appointment any scans or reports you have relating to your condition as well as comfortable clothing that we can assess your body in.
