Endometriosis where are we at?

With 1/10 women suffering Endometriosis, its no wonder that this condition has finally come into the public eye thanks to the recent exposure by Emma Watkins aka the Yellow wiggle on her media presence surrounding her experience.

We are delighted to have recently hosted one of Australia’s leading pelvic pain specialists Dr Jason Chow to update us on the latest endometriosis research and best patient care. We also heard from Rella Zinger a Sonographer with a special interest in Endometriosis, Karen Crudden on the important role that Physiotherapy plays in the management of Endometriosis and a local mum and Endo Sufferer in a Q&A run by our practice principal Lyz Evans.

This event was open to members of the community and health professionals and required a minimum $10 donation towards endometriosis Australia at the door.

Care for your Pair – Breast cancer awareness with Dr April Wong and Simone Patterson

WIF went pink to help educate and empower women how to correctly check their own breast to help them care for their pair, and receive an update on breast cancer treatment and diagnosis. It was a powerful evening with 50-55 women attending to hear from Breast surgeon Dr April Wong, our resident cancer Physiotherapist Simone Patterson on the role that Physiotherapy plays for cancer survivors and fighters.  We h also heard from  from a brave mum and breast cancer fighter Clare on her journey since being diagnosed whilst still breastfeeding her second child. There was not a dry eye in the room, and every woman left feeling inspired and informed on how to better care for her pair.
