Stefanie is Women in Focus' resident dietitian and nutritionist. Stefanie is focused on improving the health and nutrition of women and children through her comprehensive and whole-of-person approach. Stefanie is all about bringing the latest research in the field of women's health, fertility, pregnancy and pediatric nutrition and translating it into practical recommendations that can be integrated into the lives of her patients.
Stefanie is passionate about supporting women across various life stages from a new diagnosis of endometriosis or polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), pre-conception and fertility nutrition, pregnancy and post-partum nutrition and guiding women through menopause. Having personal experience with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), Stef also helps many women who are struggling with bowel issues and IBS and utilises the low FODMAP diet and a variety of other dietary strategies to help get you feeling back to normal quickly!
Stef started out in paediatrics and her passion for children's nutrition has certainly not gone away! Consulting to the a2 Milk CompanyTM as well as within a multi-disciplinary feeding clinic to help fussy eaters expand their range of accepted foods. Stef also brings her additional training in sensory-based feeding therapy to deliver practical strategies to improve food acceptance. She also helps kids struggling to grow, provides practical advice for mothers looking to introduce solids as well as guiding families through diagnoses of allergies and intolerances including cow's milk protein allergy/intolerance. Plus, get some nutrition advice around childhood constipation from the expert paediatric dietitian.
When Stef isn't busy consulting, she is involved with teaching the next generation of dieticians at the University of Sydney, involved in nutrition research amongst post-partum women across a number of Sydney hospital through the University of New South Wales and provides expert commentary to the media. Stefanie has been featured in Women's Health magazine, news.com.au, SBS Food.
Outside of work, you'll find Stef at a dance class, experimenting in the kitchen, soaking up some vitamin D with her nose in a book or working on her next gigantic jigsaw puzzle masterpiece!
